CHA 2011 Winter Peeks

THE TIME IS NOW! (piece created by Tim Holtz using his new idea-ology pocket watch piece!

In my humble opinioin, this has been the most innovative, clever and fun filled product release. It's incredibly difficult to talk about, because I just do not know where to start!

HUGE HIGHLIGHT: Getting hands on with some of the BEST NEW PRODUCTS! We were guests of Ranger Ink at an incredible class featuring some of the best teachers, creators, and artists of the industry. Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi, Claudine Hellmuth and Dyan Reaveley. Below is the compilation of Canvases - we made one with each gifted artist.

Creating the Tim Holtz canvas below gave me an opportunity to play with Tim's new Distress stain inks, dies, stamps, and idea-ology goodness. I am most struck by the unexpected touches in Tim's releases this season. His stamps, dies, and beautiful accoutrements reflect a note of whimsy that touches my femininity. Check out the dress form below made with his new Sewing Room Sizzix Die. Do you see the wings? His new Haberdashery stamp set makes me very happy - and YES to the Papillon stamp set making my heart flutter. All of this new products mix very well with his existing masculine metals, machine parts and grunginess. Tim Holtz die hards, call me crazy, but I love this touch of unexpectedness this season.

Speaking of Tim, he has a new idea-ology drill tool that fills the world with possibilities. He used it to drill into the metal timepiece and wings for adding a brad and made the tag below for us:

Check out this watch Tim made using his new Idea-ology pocket watch piece:

The canvas above was made using some of Wendy Vecchi's art parts, clearly for art and new stamps! The cleverness of Wendy's art parts continues to broaden the horizons of the industry.

The flower below was stamped and inked using Alcohol inks. Clearly for art is a clear sheet, once heated you can bend in any shape you like. It doesn't shrink. AND the best part of all...if you don't like your shape, just RE heat and RE shape. Cool Wendy, very cool!

The king of Twitter and seriously awesome dude, THE Mario Rossi (twitter @mariojrossi) has been gifting everyone with loads of behind the scenes of set up, classes, and awesome peeps. Some of the photos (like the one below) were taken by Mario. He caught me inking up in class using the new Distress Stains.

Another highlight release for me thus far is the new collaberation between Basic Grey and Hero Arts. Hero Arts has created some LOVELY stamps to coordinate with Basic Grey's new lines.

To me, it's a perfect pair. The Hero Arts made -high quality stamps are the perfect compliment to Basic Grey's innovative and colorful lines. Hero is introducing NEW Layering papers that make my heart sing too! The photo below was taken by Jennifer Mcguire to show how great the patterned paper can be completed with stamps and embellishments to make a treasured card. We should have the papers in February and the stamps will be released along with Basic Grey's collection releases through the next few months.

Magnolia stamps continue to delight our cutesy side by bringing LOADS of project examples to the show. Check out Cupid Tilda below:

I'd like to get some great pictures today of my FAVORITE new item of the season so far. Do you have any guesses as to what it could be? HINT: I had the opportunity to use it during the canvas making class - but haven't mentioned it yet. It's seriously TOUGH to figure out exactly HOW to talk about the possibilities of this innovative p.... OOPS! I'll try to get good pics of it today and do it justice! Is it technically BAD to post about CHA and NOT mention my most favorite item of all? Hmmmmm....... I've got to figure out exactly how to do it justice!

Hats off to our Simon Family joining us here to bring YOU the best new products available in the industry! Lorraine is joining us all of the way from Malta, and Jason, Stephanie, and Sarah are working around the clock. They are so busy, we don't even have a group pic yet ;) Thanks awesome Team!

BIG HUGS! Have a great day! I hope you can find some time for art therapy today ;) It's good for the soul,

Heidi

We R...Loving CHA!

Hello bloggers...we are having a whirlwind fun time at CHA in California. We're very excited about bringing you the latest and greatest products available! One of the brands that I'm really excited about is We R Memory Keepers. We LOVE the Sew Easy tool and accessories (in stock NOW!) and are very excited to tell you that COMING SOON will be a very cool carrying case and new floss and NEW really cool heads to go with this line!!

Also, they have really cool new punches that I think you'll really love, they make the punch around the page extremely simple!!

This is a card I've made...I used the heart attack tool to distress the sentiments, the brad piercer to attach the brads, and the Sew Easy floss, piercer, and new heart head (coming SOON!)

What do you think of the new items? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Simon's Challenge: Animal Antics!

Hi Friends!

If you haven't guessed by the cards below, the Simon Says Challenge theme for this week is Animal Antics. All that means is show us something animal related! Check out below for some inspiration provided by the Design Team! : )

Made by Heather!
Heather used a Happy Hoppers stamp called Light as a Feather. (Quite fun if you ask me!) She also used Kioshi paper by Basic Grey for the background, and a sewing machine.

Lols used an EK Success punch called Swirl. She also used Bunny Hop, a Happy Hoppers Stamp.

Domi used the House Mouse stamp, Playing Dress Up. Very cute!!

Debby used a Gruffies stamp called All Warm and Fuzzy. She also used Martha Stewart's Modern Garland Punch.

Chris used Relaxing Bubbles, a stamp by Happy Hoppers. Need markers? Try Copics!

Christine used the Poppin' Good Birthday stamp by House Mouse. Make your own pink and yellow flowers with Craftable Flowers by Prima and Distress Inks by Tim Holtz!

Mandy used a House Mouse stamp called Waiting for a Bluebell Drip. She also used pearl embellishments.

Tara used a Happy Hoppers stamp called Love Bunny. She also used some Pumice Stone ink.

Jo used a Happy Hopper Stamp called Balloon Bunny. The sentiment is from Anytime Messages by Hero Arts.

Jane used Adage Tickets by Tim Holtz, as well as the Lip Smackin' Relaxin' stamp.

Once again - lovely work everyone!!! Thanks to those who entered the Simon Says Stamp Challenge last week! If you'd like a chance to win $50.00 to our Simon Says Stamp Store, you'd better enter the challenge!!

Have a great time!

Sneak a Peek at Something Unique!

Hello Lovely Friends!

I'm so excited about the new Graphic 45 product that not only am I rhyming about it, but I've got to show you some previews!

They have two new lines coming out: Le Cirque & Curtain Call, but we'll also be receiving some really fun metal embellishments and cling stamps for your crafting needs!!!

Curtain Call is black and cream, but of course, if you'd like you could color the lighter parts with Copics, inks, or Colored Pencils.

Le Cirque, as you can see, if quite bright but very fun. The patterns on the pages in the Collection packs are GORGEOUS!
I'm thinking the stamps would be fun for a Birthday-related scrap page or card.

I hope you're as thrilled as I am! Make sure to keep an eye out in February because that's when they'll go live in our store!!!!

Check out some of our other high-quality Graphic 45 products!

Here is a great video of a technique you can use to make altered elements - they go great with the Steampunk Debutante paper!!

And here is the "Rachel O" video that the first referred to. She uses mixed medias to create gorgeous and unique pieces that could go with any project (especially if you're going to make something for the Vintage Challenge!!!)
