How Do I DISTRESS Thee, Let Me Count The Ways!

Does anybody get tired of seeing the wonderful Tim Holtz demonstrate his techniques? I don't think anybody does!

Today we are talking about Tim Holtz's line of Distress Inks from Ranger. They have so many uses and come in 24 awesome colors. All 24 colors of ink pads and ink pad refills are available in the store. Click here to see all of Tim Holtz's line! Also available are matching embossing powders and crackle paints! The creative possiblities are endless! Watch this great **VIDEO** showcasing the many uses of Distress Inks and you will be amazed!

Tim Holtz Distress Inks are...

• Acid free

• Non-toxic

• Fade Resistant

• New Higher Felt

• Raised 2" x 2" Pads

• Water-based Dye Inks (because they react with water, you can do all those cool Tim Holtz effects!)

Click here to see the VIDEO!

Here's another fabulous tip from Wendy Vecchi at Ranger. You can make your own glimmer mist using Distress Inks! In a Mini Mister, add one dropper full of the Distress Ink Refill color of your choice (or experiment with a few). Add some of the Ranger Perfect Pearls powder. Then top it off with water (all the way to the "R" on the mini mister bottle). Now you have your own specially created glimmer mist! This works with Distress Inks because they react with water, not repel water!

**Blog Candy Alert** Comment on this blog about the video above or your favorite use of Tim Holtz Distress Inks and you will be entered to win a lot of 4 Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads! The random drawing will be done Monday night! GOOD LUCK!

~TERRA

****OOPS, I forgot to post the winner!!! Sorry for the suspense! Hope I didn't "distress" anyone....ha ha ha! Congratulations to "monica"! She has won 4 of the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads of her choice! Monica, please email us with your shipping address and color choices and we will get that right out to you. Congratulations and keep on stamping! ~Terra

How About a Smile Today?

Everybody needs a smile!

How I gave a smile today:
*gave my dog a good belly rub, ...the kind that makes his whole body go limp
*played hide and seek with my 14 month son. He loves to run behind the chair and let me chase him.
*spent alone time hiking with my hubby. The woods are so pretty this time of year, we both had big grins

I need to be more aware of making people smile!

Somebody made me smile today:
*See ALL of the above ( I told you ...contagious!)
*My friend told me how lucky she was that she has me in her life (I am happy she is in MY life too, so I totally understand!)
*My mom told me that not only are she and my dad planning to visit this weekend, but so is my "baby" brother and his sweetheart ( I love 'em all to death!)
*The guy at Starbucks handed me a super sugary, high calorie coffee drink (I promise it wasn't for ME!, but it still made me smile....aaaah the smell! Not sure if I mentioned this, but I've been on a health kick eating healthy & organic, while exercising religiously to get my body ready for hopefully another pregnancy and frankly, be healthy.
*had my son run to me and wrap his arms around me for a great big warm and full hug!
*looked at old pictures of my nephews, loved Ethan's toothless grin!

Smiles are contagious, pass it along!

What makes YOU smile? How do you like to make other people smile?

Inspirations from Simon's Friend Boots!

Have you seen our friend, Jo (Boots') blog? Here is just a sampling of her creativity! Can you believe she has only been stamping for one year!? Jo uses stamps and styles from every genre! So versatile and fun, we LOVE her!

From Jo's blog:

About Me

My Photo
Boots the Monkey (Jo)
I'm 37 years young and live in the beautiful County of Wiltshire with my husband of 13 years and our gorgeous daughters aged 7 (Ski) and 1 (Fizzy). I am new to card making but have become addicted. Many wonderful people who I have met and spoken to in the World of craft have given me so much inspiration I wanted to share that with anyone wanting to share an addiction. Happy crafting !"

It's astounding how much growth a stamper can make in a single year (Ok, Jo has skillz too!...wish I had those kind of creative genes!)

Here she uses one of my all time favorite Stamps: Good News By Penny Black! Hedgehog is a loveable creature! *SMOOCHES*

The birds in this card are from: Decorative Birds Stamp set by Hero Arts!

CUTE! Halloween is here and pumpkins beware! This stamp is called: Beware of Cat by Penny Black

Could this rabbit get any cuter! It's a Happy Hoppers rubber stamp made by the creator of House Mouse stamps. This stamp is appropriately called: An Apple a Day! Perfect for Fall. The apples around Ohio are especially delicious this year! Jo likes to use real watercolor effects in her cards, she isn't sold (yet) on copic markers, after seeing this card, I understand completely! Jo rocks!

Did you know that Simon Sells the entire Line of Happy Hoppers, House Mouse, and Gruffies stamp in our store: www.SimonSaysStamp.com? If you click on the names of the stamps, you can link straight to our store and get shopping!

Please let BOOTS (jo) know what you think of her work! It was so kind of her to let us post her hard work on our blog! We will do a random.org drawing tomorrow night and everyone who posts a comment will be eligible to receive a "Decorative Birds" Rubber Stamp set by Hero Arts (as shown below)!

Fall Gift Tags with Inkadinkado

Think fall!
Today was a spectacular fall day in Ohio. My husband, son and I went for a hike through a splendid park called Highbanks Metro Park, in Columbus Ohio. While hiking, our 1 year old rode along in a backpack (on my hubby's back!). Our son kept pointing to the sky. After about 30 minutes, it became clear to me that he was mesmorized by the FALLING leaves, literally falling like snow around us continuously. He teaches us everyday not to take the little things for granted. Could this be from where the nickname "FALL" for the season has come?

Inkadinkado has a huge selection of Fall, Festive, and Halloween Stamps! Be inspired!
